A Counter-Striker's picks for competitive FPS peripherals and monitors
I've been playing competitive online games—mostly shooters—for nearly two decades, and I've tried a wide range of PC gaming peripherals and monitors to work out what actually improves in-game performance. Sifting through various discounts during Amazon Prime Day let me pick a few items I'd be happy to recommend to other competitive FPS players.
Almost all of these are products I use or have used personally. The 400 Hz KTC monitor sits in front of me right this minute and is what I'll be booting Counter-Strike 2 on later this evening. The IEMs are a wonderful pair of budget drivers that are great at audio imaging to place enemies on the map—just ensure you've got enough motherboard audio juice to power them, or use a DAC, even a cheap one.
I've also included a small upgrade many might not consider: aftermarket mouse skates.
