Colman Domingo Calls Spielberg’s Disclosure Day ‘One of the Most Hopeful’
Steven Spielberg’s return to science fiction arrives this month with Universal Pictures’ Disclosure Day, and Colman Domingo has been talking about the mysterious alien thriller during a guest appearance on Seen on the Screen and Fandango. Domingo said he "was weeping" as he read the script and called the movie "one of the most hopeful films anyone will see right now," adding that the core of the story is about "having faith in humanity." He recalled clearing his schedule to read the script straight through and calling Spielberg to express his gratitude.
The film, directed by Spielberg and written by his frequent collaborator David Koepp (Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds), stars Domingo and Emily Blunt in a mystery about the disclosure of a secret that could alter the direction of humanity’s fate. That hopeful arc, Domingo noted, is wrapped in large-scale set pieces and action.
While preparing for the role, Domingo said Spielberg sent him real-life research and history on UAPs to inform his performance.
