People reports that Céline Dion announced she was officially joining TikTok in a silly video posted on Jan. 5.

In the clip, filmed in front of a skyline, the 57-year-old wears a black sweatshirt with "Celine" and jokes, "My name is Céline. How old am I? I've got kids." Quoting her children, she says, "We have to get you on TikTok." She continues, "On TikTok? I've heard that before. Suddenly I'm becoming cool. Céline Dion is cool. That's amazing. TikTok here I come. Ciao." In the caption she wrote, "They told me, 'Celine, it's time...' I asked, 'Time for what?' Turns out...something completely new. My team then said they'd handle everything, handed me back my phone, and then quietly disappeared. So here I am, learning how this TikTok world works...one video at a time! Thank you for being here, I'm glad we're here together."

Although the video marked a new push, her account tied to her name was active long before. In recent weeks she has been more visible on social media: on New Year's Eve she shared a message beginning, "As we welcome this new year, I want to take a moment to send you all my love. May this year bring you good health, happiness and peace in your heart," and captioned it, "May the 2026 year bring peace to your heart, light to your path, and space to dream. Happy New Year, from me to you." Days earlier she posted a festive video on Dec. 24 that put her own spin on a scene from the 2000 movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
