According to Pagesix, Bella Hadid called out Dolce & Gabbana on Instagram this week after the brand’s menswear show at Milan Fashion Week featured a cast of models with little apparent diversity. The criticism began with a video by fashion creator Elias Medini, who described the lineup as “fifty shades of white” and said, “Not one single Asian, not one single dark-skinned model, I believe not a single Arab or blond guy.” Hadid commented, “Shocked people actually support this company still it’s embarrassing,” and later wrote that the brand has “beeeen cancelled….

years of racism sexism bigotry xenophobia … how are we shocked still ?” Other industry figures also reacted, with stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson calling the brand “consistently racist, homophobic, xenophobic,” content creator Tefi Pessoa writing “YUCK,” and rapper Skepta posting “Zzzz.” Hadid’s initial comment reportedly received over 60,000 likes.

The brand did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
