Audrey Hepburn remains one of Hollywood's most timeless stars, and Charade is a reminder of her range. Long called the most Hitchcockian film Hitchcock never made, the Stanley Donen-directed thriller pairs Hepburn with Cary Grant in a blend of charm and suspense that still delights.

Criterion's definitive 4K release looks absolutely stunning. From the Saul Bass–inspired opening titles to the bright ’60s color palette and locations in the Swiss Alps and Paris, the remaster delivers a clear image while retaining just enough grain to evoke celluloid.

The disc includes the 1999 commentary by Donen and screenwriter Peter Stone, plus an essay by Bruce Eder who suggests Charade “may well be the most successful non-Hitchcock picture ever made to mix murder, mayhem, romance, and marriage in one screenplay.” The film follows Reggie (Hepburn) as a group of thieves surrounds her in Paris to recover money apparently stolen by her late husband, and introduces Grant as a multi‑named secret agent who tries to get her out of the mess.
