Collider reports that Andy Muschietti and his sister and producing partner Barbara Muschietti said in a new Spanish-language interview that a supercut of their It films is in the works.

The siblings said the project would bridge the 2017 and 2019 movies Muschietti directed. Andy Muschietti called it “[a] supercut is something that’s coming, and we’ll see how the series does…,” while Barbara said, “I was wondering about it a month ago, Stephen King asked how the supercut was going.” Andy Muschietti added that the combined piece “will possibly have a different structure and will have extra scenes, added scenes. I still have to film some of them… because they are the interstitial fabric between the pieces of the story.” Barbara also said, “We don’t have time, that’s the problem,” and Muschietti noted “there’s interest” and “I think the studio is interested in funding it. We’ll see.”

With a combined runtime of over five hours, the supercut would lengthen further if those extra scenes are added and could allow the two films to be presented as a single narrative; however, the filmmakers say timing is uncertain because some scenes still need to be filmed and they are currently busy. It: Welcome to Derry is now streaming on HBO Max.
