Anaconda Tops Alien 3 with $60M Domestic Box Office
Collider reports that Anaconda has passed the $60 million mark at the domestic box office, overtaking the $55 million lifetime total of David Fincher's Alien 3.
The 2025 Anaconda stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd as lifelong fans who travel to the Amazon to remake the 1997 film; it has earned mixed reviews but holds a 76% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Alien 3, Fincher's feature directorial debut, opened to mixed reviews, made over $160 million worldwide, and now sits at a 44% score on Rotten Tomatoes; Fincher has distanced himself from the film, telling The Guardian, "No one hated it more than me; to this day, no one hates it more than me."
Anaconda was released December 24, 2025, has a runtime of 100 minutes and was directed by Tom Gormican, and it is currently playing in theaters. Alien 3 originally featured Sigourney Weaver as Ripley alongside Charles Dance, Lance Henriksen and Charles Dutton.
