Four years after its theatrical release, Mark Williams’ Blacklight — a 108-minute spy thriller starring Liam Neeson as government operative Travis Block — has climbed streaming charts on platforms including Prime Video and Apple TV. Block specializes in extracting agents whose covers have been compromised and, as he tries to retire and repair strained family ties, a conspiracy and blurred loyalties pull him back into conflict with Gabriel Robinson (Aidan Quinn).

Emerging journalist Mira Jones (Emmy Raver-Lampman) pursues the story, putting herself in danger and leaving Block to protect her. Critics were harsh at release, labeling the film “stale,” “cliché,” and even “unwatchable,” and it earned an 11% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Audiences responded differently: Blacklight has frequently topped viewership charts on Netflix, Prime Video, and Tubi, has logged over 13.3 million hours watched on Netflix, and holds an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
